Economy meets ecology: With our intermodal transports, we combine road with rail and at the same time economic efficiency with ecological benefits.
Our block trains are our highlight in combined transport. The Company Trains cross the Alps via Brenner and Gotthard 20 times a week, thus providing a stable link between the economic centers of Germany and Italy.
This goes hand in hand with relieving road congestion. By using combined transport, we prevent further pollution of the environment by road traffic in ecologically sensitive areas such as the Gotthard as well as the Brenner region.
With every truck load that is shifted from road to rail, we save the emission of 60 grams of the greenhouse gas CO2 per ton and kilometer compared with pure road transport. This corresponds to around two-thirds of CO2 emissions – a significant contribution to environmental protection!
